" And David danced before the Lord with all his might; and David was girded with a linen ephod. So David and all the House of Israel brought up the Ark of the Lord with shouting, and with the sound of the trumpet. And as the Ark of the Lord came up unto the city of David, Michal Saul's daughter looked through a window, and saw king David leaping and dancing before the Lord; and she despised him in her heart."

2 Samuel 6: 14-16

"And David said unto Michal, It was before the Lord, Who chose me before your father, and before all this house, to appoint me ruler over the People of the Lord, over Israel: therefore will I play before the Lord. And I will yet be more vile (undignified) than this, and will be base (humble) in my own sight: and of the maidservants which you have spoken of, of them shall I be had in honour."

2 Samuel 6: 21-22

"how undignified"

About 30 years ago, I was stopped at a traffic light on the north side of Chicago. As I looked at the people waiting for the bus, I noticed an older African-American woman. She looked homeless, and appeared to be wearing every piece of ragged clothing she owned, as it was multi-layered , and topped with a winter coat. It was summer, and 90 degrees.

The group waiting for the bus distanced themselves, and one, was making comments to her. As I saw her, she looked at me with a blank, but peaceful look. When I turned the corner, and started to drive, I sensed the Holy Spirit prompt me to go back. As I circled around the block, the Lord told me to stop, get out of my truck, and tell her that the Lord told me to give her this ( all the money I had on me, $18). the people waiting there, heard this, and now looked at me as if I was now the crazier one. The woman took the money with no words, just the same blank, peaceful look. I got back in my truck, and went home.

When I got home, I told my wife the story. She shared, that she felt the woman was an angel. I remembered the scripture in Hebrews 13, about "entertaining Angels unawares." I often wonder, how we, as people, both Christian and those in the world, miss out on divine appointments. As Christians, do we miss out on ministry opportunities, because the persons, or places, don't meet our preconceived ideas of how, where, or to who, the Lord will use us to minister to?

Have you ever given thought, to before you accepted the Gift of God, when you were "in the world doing you own thing". How many times, did you not recognized the moving of the Spirit of God to you, because the ways and means seemed too vile or undignified. In these times, the Church needs to seek the Mind of the Lord, and be sensitive to the leading of the Holy Spirit. Things aren't as they always appear, or seem to be.

"But God has chosen the foolish things of the world to confound the wise; and God has chosen the weak things of the world to confound the things which mighty; And base(humble) things of the world, and things which are despised, has God chosen, yes, and things that which are not, to bring to nought things that are; That no flesh(human effort) should glory in His Presence. (1 Cor 1: 27-29) David understood this. The little boy,who slew the lion and the bear. The young boy who slew the giant. The shepherd boy, who would be king. To the natural mind, and worldly standards, impossible. But with God, everything is possible. He loved to be in the Presence of the Lord.

Saul's daughter Michal, David's wife, saw him rejoicing, dancing before the Lord, and despised him. The unregenerate heart will always despise the things of God, dismissing it as foolish, or undignified. The religious minded people, and the worldly people, would have you look at yourself, and worry about what you look like, instead of the One your dancing with. The situations of the present world age we are in, are trying, and troubling. Our time is short, whether from the Rapture taking place, or our natural lifespan. People need the Lord, now more than ever.

The time is here for the Church, to rise and not worry about our reputations, or what the world and religious systems may think. Let's do as David did, and to tell them of the hope and joy that is in us. Remember Church, Who brought you here, Jesus, The One Who is our Lord and Savior. Rejoice and "dance with the One", even if the world says "how undignified".
