"And David danced before the Lord with all his might; and David was girded with a linen ephod. So David and all the House of Israel brought up the Ark of the Lord with shouting, and with the sound of the trumpet. And as the Ark of the Lord came up into the city of David, Michal Saul's daughter looked through a window, and saw king David leaping and dancing before the Lord; and she despised him in her heart."

2 Samuel 6: 14-16

" And David said unto Michal, it was before the Lord, Who chose me before thy father, and before

all this house, to appoint me ruler over the People of the Lord, over Israel: therefore will I play before

the Lord."

2 Samuel 6: 21

"the One"

I shared in the last post, about remembering Who brought you here. We saw how Israel, in scriptures prior to our text, had forgotten or worse yet, disregarded their heritage. The manner in which they carried the Ark of the Covenant displayed this. On a cart,as the Philistines (an example of the world) did . Man's way, not God's designated way, and because of it , a man died. They had forgotten, the One, who brought the Blessing.

After Uzzah died David reacted with anger because of God's wrath toward Uzzah. He became afraid of God, fearful, asking how could he ever bring the Ark to the City of David. Even as Christians, How often when we sin (and we all do), do we respond in similar ways. When we rely on our own ways, resources, and plans, without consulting the Lord, and our plans fail, how do we react? Many times people, even Christians, get angry at God, because of loss or failures. We often react in "fleshly" ways, not fully understanding God's purposes in our situations. We need to remember we are to adjust our lives to His Ways, not adjust His Ways to suit our lives. God's ways are far above our ways.

We often make our own plans, even good plans, without primarily, seeking the Lord for guidance in our matters. We often rely on our own thoughts, talents, resources, and strength, to accomplish our goals and then, maybe ask the Lord to bless it. Romans 14: 23 tells us " whatsoever is not of faith is sin ." and "the wages of sin is death." (Rom 6:23a). When we endeavor in the flesh, failure will happen. We should always know that the Lord has our best in Mind, even in our seemingly failed situations. His prevention, intervention, or abstention in our plans, can be His way of preventing us from choices and paths that could lead us further from Him, or from possible calamity. "But the Gift of God is Eternal Life through Jesus Christ our Lord." (Rom 6:23b)

The Lord's Grace abounds. After David's initial attempt and failure, he leaves the Ark in the house of Obed-edom. After 3 months, David hears how the Lord has blessed Obed-edom's house. He repents of the previous sin, and seeks the Lord's counsel to bring the Ark to Jerusalem. He sought to inquire of the One, who is the Glory, and the One Whose Presence brings fullness of Joy. The One who supplied the victories in battle. Now, Israel had something to celebrate. "And David danced before the Lord with all his might;"

How much more should we rejoice, having a better Covenant, bought with the Precious Blood of the Lamb. How much more should we celebrate, having the Promise of Eternal Life, because of the One, who died for us. David danced with all his might, as the Vessel of His Presence, was coming to them. How much more should we dance, and shout for joy, knowing that we are the temple of His Holy Spirit, and In Him we live and move, and have life abundantly. His Presence in our lives brings joy unspeakable joy, as we remember to dance before the One.
